Beauty Box 5 Arrived! Beauty Box 5: October 2014

I got a bunch of stuff in the mail, including Beauty Box 5. At first glance, I feel so-so about this box. 

CONTENTS:

-Chapstick Hydration Lock, $2.99 retail They also included a coupon for this in the box.

-Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek and Lip Stain in Pink, $19.99 retail

-Extend YOur Beauty Cosmetic Tool- 6 inches, $5.49 retail

-Nanacoco Nail Polish in Magic Kingdom, $3.95 retail

-Lashem Picture Perfect, $3.95 retail

COST for new subscription: $12/month

Because of a yearly subscription and a coupon code, I pay $8 for Beauty Box 5. At that price, I can't say that they value of the box isn't there. Beauty Box 5 tends to feel more "drugstore," which turns some people off, but is fine with me. I love discovering high end brands, but I also own some pretty quality drugstore products that stand out in my beauty collection. And at the rate that I lose lip balm, the Chapstick is a win for me.

I'm probably going to trade the Lashem Picture Perfect and the Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain. I've been getting so many different primers lately and really don't need another. My personal preference for cheeks is powders and my preference for lips is glosses. However, I know some of my eDivv friends love stains and will snatch this up. Nailpolish is so-so for me. This box had nailpolish in last month's box, so I think they need to find a different small product to include. However, I do like being introduced to the Nanacoco brand in two different ways- lipgloss last month and the polish this month. 

Hello! and a little about me...

Hello All!

My name is Katie. I'm 25 years old and I live in Maryland with my girlfriend (B), her daughter (S), and our cat (her name is Xia, but we call her Meeper). I am a paramedic by day and a beauty addict by night. I didn't grow up with my mom wearing makeup. She has actually never worn makeup in her life. So, when I was in college, I discovered YouTube and watched a bunch of beauty gurus and learned to do makeup through them. I still love watching, discovering new people, and learning about new techniqes and products. Last night, B and I were talking about how I could turn my love for makeup into a hobby. She suggested starting a blog like one of the many that I read. So, here I am. I love subscribing to subscription boxes and I also trade on eDivv. When I'm not working or volunteering as a paramedic, I can be found waiting for the mail. I also like to go camping and for walks. We live near the water, so I love seeing the wildlife and watching the sunsets.

Some of my beauty favorites include:
Benefit They're Real Mascara (I'm currently obsessed and have traded on eDivv for 4 or 5 tubes)
Whish shaving cream- it leaves my skin so soft and smooth. I've also traded a bunch on eDivv for this. It was in the September Birchbox.
Bliss Body Butter- I love the creamy formulation that smells amazing and leaves my skin so smooth. Blood Orange + White Pepper smells like heaven.
